This is the plan behind our Mathura Vrindavan one-day darshan package.
2 days: add a slower Vrindavan and Govardhan
- Day 1: Mathura in the morning; Vrindavan old town; Prem Mandir in the evening.
- Day 2: ISKCON mangala aarti or morning darshan; drive to Govardhan (22–27 km) for Daan Ghati, Mansi Ganga and Radha Kund — or the full 21 km parikrama if you start early; back to Vrindavan for Keshi Ghat aarti.
3 days: add Barsana and Nandgaon
- Day 1–2: as above.
- Day 3: Barsana's Radha Rani temple and Kirti Mandir in the morning, Nandgaon (8–10 km) after, back by evening — see Vrindavan to Barsana distance. Or swap for Gokul and Baldeo, south-east of Mathura.
For the full 84 Kos Yatra by car, see the Braj 84 Kos Yatra package.
Popular add-ons
- Agra and the Taj Mahal (55–65 km; closed Fridays) — Agra & Fatehpur Sikri day trip.
- Khatu Shyam (≈ 300 km) — distance and route.
Arriving and getting around
- By train: Mathura Junction is on the Delhi–Agra main line; a Mathura taxi can meet you at the station.
- By air: Noida International Airport (Jewar) is about 95–110 km away; Delhi IGI about 175–200 km. See Jewar airport taxi.
- By road from Delhi: 3–4.5 hours on the Yamuna Expressway — Delhi to Vrindavan taxi.
- Locally: a car with driver for the day, plus e-rickshaws in the old-town lanes. See local packages.
When to go
October to March is the most comfortable. Holi (Feb–March) and Janmashtami (Aug–Sept) are spectacular but extremely crowded; book transport and hotels well ahead. Weekends and Ekadashi are busier than weekdays all year.
